Pancake day

Happy pancake day!
We actually remembered to celebrate it this year in the traditional English way. Pancakes, lemon juice, sugar and syrup (unfortunately we'd run out of golden syrup so had to make do with the runny stuff). I think I'm out of practice at the tossing as only 2 actually remained round and the dog got one that landed on the floor! A minority of people celebrate pancake day over here and their pancakes are the thick American variety served with maple syrup and sometimes hash browns, bacon and sausage.
Josh and Isaac played cricket in the snow last weekend, a crazy idea but apparently it was fun with one or two minor alterations to the traditional rules. Don't think it will take off as a new sport though!
Josh has joined junior firefighters in Harvey. He goes each Wednesday night for a couple of hours, tonight he's learning how to use a fire extinguisher. He looks very small in his huge uniform.
Isaac has been going to the Harvey ice rink to the quieter mid week sessions, Harriet likes the weekend skating session there and Josh refuses to go where he'll be seen!
David continues to enjoy his job which get busier and busier especially when he's on earlies like this week. My new hours at work mean I can car share most of the time with David. My new group of kids adds another dimension to my job which is good fun.
The first week in March is March break, a week long school holiday. We haven't had many snow days recently so I'm hoping we can make it another 7 days without one, except at the weekend of course!
Our chickens are laying really well some days we get 17 eggs from only 18 chickens. I'm steadily working my way through all the egg recipes I can find. We have a good number of orders too and also sell some of the rabbit meat.
