There's been alot going on recently around here. Victoria Day weekend market was very good then having a day off on Monday has made this week pass really fast.

Last week we went to the Radian 6 acquisition party which was a really good evening held in the newly opened convention center in town.

Bess hasn't been well for some time now and she has steadily got worse until on Friday she couldn't even walk so with much sadness we had to have her put down. She will be missed as she was part of our family for nearly 14 years.

Our house purchase is still set to happen on Tuesday which is really exciting. It will be exactly 1 year since we sold our house in Whitby. Time certainly is flying by. Everything is signed so all we need to do is a walk round the property at 9am, if we agree it's left how we agreed in the contract the lawyers are informed, the money is transfered and we own a house! Our collection of furniture etc. to fill the house is growing as more yard sales are visited. On bank holiday Monday me, Jen and the girls went to a sale and bought drawers, a blanket, shelves and a chair for $20. Mum even did the American yard sales too!

The bugs are certainly here I have blackfly and mosquito bites all over which itch like mad. They seem to like my blood best of all.

Today we've just got back from our church weekend away at Green Hill Lake Camp. We had a really good time with great people in a beautiful setting. The highlight of the weekend was a baptismal service in the lake where Isaac was one of 10 people getting baptised. We were very proud of him and delighted that Rich & Jen and Mum & Dad drove out for the occasion too.

Next time I write the blog it should be from our new house!

At last I've found time to sit and update the blog when blogger isn't down for repairs!

I went to work on April 21st and found everyone waiting with a cake to celebrate the queens 85th birthday! My boss had decided to make a big deal of the fact that 2 of us in the office are British. When I asked where the flat screen t.v. was going to be located for the wedding the following week he wasn't as eager. We got up earlier to watch some of the wedding, the kids went out to catch the school bus at 7.10am which didn't turn up so I had to take them to school and missed most of the service! Canada didn't have wedding mania like the UK but I was surprised how many people had got up very very early to watch it all.

Mum and Dad arrived on Thursday 5th May at Halifax airport. David went across to pick them up. They are staying with us first then after a little holiday away in Chicago will move into Rich & Jen's. Mum has done all the secondhand shops and yards sales, Dad's been golfing. We went to a concert at Rich & Jen's church where 'The Holmesville Boys' were playing country gospel music. It was Mother's day last Sunday so we had a big lunch and then a relaxing canoe on the lake. It was a beautiful day but since then we've had a lot of rain and it's got much colder again.

May and June are famous for bugs mainly blackfly and mosquitos, before the rain came we were starting to get bitten so at least we have some relief at the moment.

I had a half day off last Monday as schools were closed so we went to St George. It was ok when we set off but as we approached the coast the rain came. We froze on our picnic, quickly looked at the gorge then headed for the handful of shops. One of them sold wild blueberries so we had to buy a big box full and a pie for tea.

For the past 2 weeks dad has come to the market with me, he's had to resist shouting 'roll up' as I'd be banned.He tried telling his jokes but noone understood him! Next weekend is a bank holiday called 'Victoria day' when I questioned what it was all about people were surprised we didn't celebrate our queen's day too!!! Hey ho it's a day off and hopefully the union jacks, victoria sponge cake and good old English scones will go down a treat on my stall.

We went to have a final look round our new house this week and now only have 2 weeks to wait till we move. We can't wait to have our own space again after all this time, we just need to hunt for some furniture to fill it.

Today Kevin & Dianne hosted an (indoor) BBQ for everyone.

David started his new job on Monday and is currently in training. He is enjoying driving to an office instead of all over south New Brunswick.

I now have 20 hours work from Partners for Youth in September approved so I've handed my notice in at daycare from 24th June when schools break up and will just have 2 jobs but I'll be available on the supply teaching list for extra work.
