Another year gone by and I’m only just going to get in my annual blog post before we sing ‘Auld lang syne’
2025 has been as busy as usual, but when I sit to write a review I always wonder what to put.
David is still working for Introhive which keeps him very busy, he has been travelling this year but not quite as much as in previous years. The farm with all the pigs, goats, chickens and cows keeps him the busiest, however much he gets done there is always plenty more to do. The weather hasn’t helped this year with very cold winters, super hot summers, buggy and very wet spring, only leaving fall as the perfect working season which was also the busiest family time this year.
I continue to work for Partners for Youth, I reduced my hours last year to 4 days per week but due to staffing issues I have recently gone back up to 5 days until March 2026.
We are part of Christ Central Church and we enjoy running a lifegroup, I work in kids church and David helps to run Alpha.
Our puppy, Queenie is now a big girl, she is good company but a little sassy!
We finally applied for Canadian Citizenship this year which was finalized with an in person ceremony in September which was pretty special. That means we are now dual citizens. Harriet became a citizen a few years ago, Isaac had his ceremony online in October and Josh is currently going through the process.
September and October were busy months with Maeve and Carters wedding and fun family time with mum and dad coming over for a while and David, Sarah, Sam and Amy coming over for a long weekend. It was lovely to spend time together.
In November we went with Isaac, Hannah and Henry to the UK for 2 weeks. Hannah and Henry had never been to the UK before so it was very fun showing them all the sights. We had a quick visit to London, then onto Cradley Heath to visit David’s family, then Whitby to see my family, David brother and his family joined us in Whitby too. We then went to the lakes for a few day and finished at Salisbury before flying home. It was a lot of driving and we were pretty tired when we eventually got home but we had lots of fun and Henry travelled really well particularly enjoying the trains in London.
Isaac and Hannah are continuing the renovations on their home but most of this year they have been working on the garage, veggie garden and a hoop house green house. They had a very big garden and raised lots of chickens and turkeys. We celebrated Henry’s 1st birthday in March with a silly goose party. They are expecting baby #2 in April 2026.
Josh has continued his Reno’s at home too with things like a new heating system, insulation in the basement, finishing his office and decorating the downstairs toilet. Josh’s big news this year is he and Beth got engaged and are planning their wedding for July 2026.
Matt and Harriet got moved into their new house in January this year, Matt continues to grow the business and is currently building another house down the road from them. Harriet returned to work in June with reduced hours. We celebrated Reuben’s 1st birthday in May with a Peter rabbit party and we all stayed at their place for the weekend. They got a new puppy called Pip who has lots of bounce and energy! They are expecting baby #2 in March 2026.
So we are looking forward to 2 babies and a wedding in 2026! And of course David has some big house and farm projects planned in the mix!!!
We hope to see you in 2026. Happy New Year!
